Some important facts about your insurance are summarised below. This summary does not describe all the terms and conditions of your policy, so please take time to read the policy wording to make sure you understand the cover it provides.

Bicycle insurance: this policy is designed to offer protection for theft and accidental damage as described in this policy summary.

Theft of your Bicycle
  • Any excess, dependant on the value of the bike insured;
  • Theft of your bicycle when away from the insured location unless locked to an Immovable object by a SoldSecure approved lock of appropriate standard;
  • Theft of the bicycle when left unattended away from the Insured Location for a period in excess of 12 hours (or 24 hours within the boundaries of a train station);
  • Theft from the insured location unless involving forcible and violent entry and you have complied with the secu-rity requirement applicable to the insured location.
  • Theft from any building at the Insured Location which is not constructed of brick, stone or concrete, unless theBicycle is locked to an Immovable Object by an Approved Lock, or locked appropriately in a private garage orprivately accessed wooden shed (see Security Requirements section of the Terms and Conditions).  
  • Theft not reported to the police within 48 hours of discovery or reasonably thereafter.  
  • Theft where you have not obtained a crime reference number within 48 hours of discovery.

Accidental Damage
  • Any excess, dependant on the value of the bike insured; 
  • When accidental damage is sustained in transit when handed to a recognised transport provider, unless thebicycle is securely packaged and a receipt obtained.
  • Marring,  scratching, denting or any cosmetic damage which does not impair the function and performance of the bicycle;
  • Any  tyres, fixed accessories, or removable parts other than quick release parts, unless the bicycle suffers accidental damage at the same time;

If you have chosen and paid for the optional European cover the above exclusions and limitations apply

Your cover is valid for 12 months.

CANCELLATION RIGHT

We hope you are happy with the cover this policy provides. However, you have the right to cancel it within 14 days of receiving the policy. Thereafter you may cancel the insurance cover at any time by writing to Assurant Limited however no refund of premium will be payable. See the enclosed policy wording and the section headed “Cancellation”. Please note that this right does not apply if your policy is a short term insurance of less than one month in duration.

HOW TO MAKE A COMPLAINT

1. Although we set ourselves high standards, if we do not meet your expectations and you are not satisfied in some way we would like to know. If you follow the guidelines below, your complaint will be dealt with in the most efficient way possible.

Step 2 – If you are still not satisfied with the way your complaint has been dealt with, you can ask the Financial Ombudsman Service to review your case. you can contact them at the following address: South Quay Plaza, 183 Marsh Wall, London, E14 9SR. Telephone Number: 0845 080 1800.

2. In order for the Financial Ombudsman Service to review your case, you must send your complaint to them within 6 months of the date of our final corre- spondence to you. This procedure will not affect your rights to take legal action.

If we are not able to meet our responsibilities, you may be entitled to compensation from the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS). you can contact them at 7th floor Lloyds Chambers, Portsoken Street, London, E1 8BN. or on their website www.fscs.org.uk. The level of protection for non-compulsory insurance claims is 90% with no upper limit.
