How to claim

  1. Please note: This is a ‘pay and reclaim’ policy. If you damage the vehicle, your rental company will deduct the excess amount from your credit card and provide you with a loss damage report. You should retain this report and use it to claim back the excess amount deducted by the rental company. If you purchase the additional “Collision Damage Waiver” extra and need to make a claim under this aspect of the policy, the ‘pay and reclaim’ clause does not apply. Please contact our claims team before you settle any charges that arise.

  2. On your return from your trip, contact our claims assistance team Orchard Administration Ltd.

You can have up to five additional drivers on this policy with one Lead Driver. Only the Lead Driver can hire a vehicle, however additional drivers are able to drive freely in the same vehicle if they are named on the rental agreement and the certificate. Q
Why do I need Vehicle Hire Excess Insurance?
Tap to read answer
A

When you hire a Vehicle, your rental agreement will usually cover collision damage waiver (CDW), theft and third-party liability. But, like all insurance policies, should anything happen to the vehicle during your rental agreement, you will be required to pay a portion of the costs to the vehicle rental company (the excess). This can be over £1,500 with some Vehicle rental companies. Our insurance is designed to cover this excess payment, as well as other items such as damage to tyres, windscreens and the under body of the vehicle, which are often the financial responsibility of the hirer and can be expensive.

More about Vehicle Hire Excess Insurance

Cover yourself on the road

When you hire a car, van or minibus, your rental agreement will normally cover CDW (collision damage waiver), theft and third party liability. But, like all insurance policies, should anything happen to the vehicle during your rental agreement you will be required to pay a portion of the costs to the car rental company (the excess.). This can be over £1,500 with some rental companies.

Our Vehicle Hire Excess insurance is designed to cover this excess payment, reimbursing you for the payment you are required to give the rental company in case of any damages. In addition, our policy also covers other items such as damage to tyres, windscreens and the under-body of the car, which are often the financial responsibility of the hirer and can be expensive.

Obviously, your hire company will also offer you insurance against this excess. However, we are able to offer customers a potentially better option before they you arrive at the car lot to pick your hire vehicle.

By purchasing a policy with Protect Your Bubble prior to departure you have more time to review the terms of the cover and make the best decision possible. The implication here is that customers shouldn’t wait to purchase or cannot find out about cover sooner than at point of vehicle pick-up or that they won’t be able to understand what they are buying if they do. It is best to keep to factual information that can be evidenced.
