Frequently asked questions

What is an "excess fee"?
Tap to read answer

Unless you have purchased ‘Premier PLUS’ cover, most sections of the policy carry an "excess fee". This is the amount you will have to pay – separate from your premium – if you make a claim which is approved. The amount may vary depending on the level of cover you have chosen, and is applicable per person, per section.

How can I pay for my policy?
Tap to read answer

We accept Visa, MasterCard, Maestro/Switch, Solo, Visa Electron, Delta and American Express credit and debit cards. We can also accept cheques, but only for policies over the value of £100. The policy will not be set up until the cheque has been cleared through our bank. Cheques should be sent to:

PYB Travel Insurance,
Griffin House,
135 High Street,
Crawley RH10 1DQ

If you have questions, please contact us on 0844 482 1053.*

*Calls to 0844, 0843 and 0845 numbers cost 7p per minute, plus your telephone company’s access charge.

What are the main exclusions and conditions of this policy?
Tap to read answer

You will not be eligible for coverage if:

  • You’re 55 years of age or older;
  • You live outside of the UK, or have spent more than six months abroad in the year prior to attempting to purchase a policy;
  • You’re planning on travelling against the advice of a medical practitioner.

There are also a number of limitations on cover and different policy exclusions depending upon which level of cover is taken out – please see the Travel Insurance Terms and Conditions for full details.

How often can I travel on an Annual Multi-trip policy?
Tap to read answer

The policy lasts for the complete 12 months, and you can take as many trips/holidays as you wish during the year. However, any individual trip or holiday must not last longer than 21 days. If a trip is for a longer period, you will need to purchase a Single Trip policy for that particular trip.

For an additional premium, you can opt for Winter Sports, Business or Golf cover (for a maximum of 21 days per year).

How to claim

  1. All claims must be notified within 28 days of your return on a policy claim form, accompanied by original invoices, receipts, reports, etc.
  2. Check your Certificate of Insurance and the appropriate Section of the policy to make sure that what you are claiming for is covered under your policy.
  3. Please refer to the relevant section of your policy for specific details about supporting evidence/documentation. We suggest that you retain copies of all documents when submitting your claim form, and that you use registered post.
  4. If you purchased on or after July 1 2015 (your policy number will start with “HCC”), call 0843 658 0206* or email us to get claims forms. Give your name, policy number and brief details of your claim.
  5. If you purchased before July 1 2015 (your policy number will start with “SOL”) go online, call 0843 658 0345* or email us for a claim form. For Single Trip policies, quote “14Q42.” For Annual policies, quote “14Q43.”

More about Golf Insurance

Great cover for your golf holiday

Planning a golfing holiday is exciting... until you think about what could go wrong.

The options are endless: clubs break, wheels come off trolleys, bags get lost in transit, things go missing from locker rooms... and that’s before the weather steps in.

And when a single club can cost as much as a flight, replacing your lost kit could put quite a dampener on that dream holiday.

Equipment, fees and more

Luckily, Golf Insurance from Protect Your Bubble covers your equipment against theft, loss and damage. It also steps in if you need to rent equipment if you're without yours for more than 24 hours.

You'll also be covered for non-refundable fees if you get sick, get stuck with bad weather, have an accident or if the documentation you need to go golfing gets lost or stolen.

It's available as an add-on for both annual and single-trip policies on three of our four Travel Insurance cover levels.

Think Golf Insurance sounds like a smart idea? It only takes a minute to get a quote – why not get started?
