Medical emergencies

There are few things scarier than needing emergency medical treatment in a foreign country. With our international travel insurance, you're backed up by our 24/7 emergency helpline and up to £10m for emergency medical treatment and repatriation.


Different excesses apply for each cover level. You must make all reasonable attempts to gain pre-approval from us before incurring medical expenses over £500. See terms and conditions for full details.

Delay & missed departures

Delays sometimes seem like they can be an unavoidable part of travelling. That's why we offer you cover, along with missed departures and total holiday abandonment that are out of your control.


Delays and missed departures are not covered by Economy level policies. Flights, sea crossings or coach/train journeys must be delayed for 12+ hours as a direct result of industrial action, adverse weather or mechanical breakdown of the vehicles involved.

Cancellation & curtailment

If you’re forced to abandon your international holiday, cancel it before you leave or even cut your trip short once you've arrived, there's good news. Depending on your cover level, you’ll be covered between £1,500 and £10,000.


Applies as a result of unforeseen events as detailed in the terms and conditions.

Baggage & possessions

International travel can carry the risk of your personal luggage, passport and money getting lost, damaged or stolen. Luckily, our cover keeps them protected for up to £3,000.


£3,000 maximum cover applicable for Premier PLUS cover level – maximums are £1,500 on Economy or Standard and £2,000 on Premier. Single item limits apply.

What is an "excess fee"?

Unless you have purchased ‘Premier PLUS’ cover, most sections of the policy carry an "excess fee". This is the amount you will have to pay – separate from your premium – if you make a claim which is approved. The amount may vary depending on the level of cover you have chosen, and is applicable per person, per section.

How can I pay for my policy?

We accept Visa, MasterCard, Maestro/Switch, Solo, Visa Electron, Delta and American Express credit and debit cards. We can also accept cheques, but only for policies over the value of £100. The policy will not be set up until the cheque has been cleared through our bank. Cheques should be sent to:

What are the main exclusions and conditions of this policy?

You will not be eligible for coverage if:

  • You’re 55 years of age or older;
  • You live outside of the UK, or have spent more than six months abroad in the year prior to attempting to purchase a policy;
  • You’re planning on travelling against the advice of a medical practitioner.

How often can I travel on an Annual Multi-trip policy?

The policy lasts for the complete 12 months, and you can take as many trips/holidays as you wish during the year. However, any individual trip or holiday must not last longer than 21 days. If a trip is for a longer period, you will need to purchase a Single Trip policy for that particular trip.

For an additional premium, you can opt for Winter Sports, Business or Golf cover (for a maximum of 21 days per year).

How to claim

  1. All claims must be notified within 28 days of your return on a policy claim form, accompanied by original invoices, receipts, reports, etc.
  2. Check your Certificate of Insurance and the appropriate Section of the policy to make sure that what you are claiming for is covered under your policy.
  3. Please refer to the relevant section of your policy for specific details about supporting evidence/documentation. We suggest that you retain copies of all documents when submitting your claim form, and that you use registered post.
  4. If you purchased on or after July 1 2015 (your policy number will start with “HCC”), call 0843 658 0206* or email us to get claims forms. Give your name, policy number and brief details of your claim.
  5. If you purchased before July 1 2015 (your policy number will start with “SOL”) go online, call 0843 658 0345* or email us for a claim form. For Single Trip policies, quote “14Q42.” For Annual policies, quote “14Q43.”
