The 2016 Cycle Show - Review

26 September 2016

Matt Tempest

The Cycle Show came to an end yesterday (25th September) and it definitely delivered on its promise to be the biggest one ever! All weekend the show was absolutely rammed and if you were there on Saturday you’ll know how hard it was at times to navigate your way round the show for the sheer volume of people which is great news for both the sport and industry alike!

As per usual there wasn’t a shortage of things to do this year! Whether you are into road or MTB’s there was something for everyone with the new e-mountain bike track proving extremely popular, especially the north shore burm! Mountain Bike Events were on hand to wow the crowds with top tricks over the box jump & quarter pipe and the high jump competition proved to be extremely popular. If jumps weren’t your thing there were plenty of simulators to try your hand at and the BMX freestylers delivered a master class in bike control & precision to name but a few!

On top of activities and of course plenty of shopping the show was home to some of the UK’s top cyclists for the weekend! The Protect Your Bubble stage played host to the likes of Team GB gold medalists Callum Skinner & Ed Clancy as well as Downhill royalty in the shape of the Atherton family. There were also fascinating talks from top nutritionists, race organisers and the West Midlands Police gave an excellent and mind opening talk on bike safety and security.

Finally we’d like to say a special thank you to anyone who visited us on stand over the weekend! It was a pleasure to meet everyone, give out advice on keeping your cycles safe as well as offer quotes and cookies! If you entered our competition to win a seat at the Champions of cycle Sport we'll be announcing a winner in the coming days! If don't win, fear not as we'll be be giving away a final 2 places on our twitter handle @PYB_bike

Thanks again
